These speakers will normally be used in conjunction with one of the Magneplanar model Woofers or a self-powered subwoofer in I have owned 2 pairs of MMGs and a pair of MG12.And in this post, I will review the Magnepan MG 12 floor-standing. This multi-channel, planar speaker is designed to be attached to or placed next to a wall or cabinet. The MMG W is an on-wall addition to our 60-day, money-back guarantee MMG program.
They sound extremely well in a room which is 14x24 using a high output Onkyo receiver 140 watt per. I kept them well maintained and added high grade gold filled fuses which i thick helped the high end. First, i have owned the MMGS for 22 years now.

For sound quality I think the Servo was the best.I also have owned the 5004 for a month before upgrading to the 8004. Clean dynamic sound at insane db levels. Magneplanar SMG / MMG, 2-Way / Planar Magnetic, 50 Hz 18 kHz.For amplification, I have used a samson studio amp servo 260 130wpc, an arcam alpha8 50wpc, adcom 5300 80wpc that fried in no time, and a qsc pro amp 280wpc.The MMGs came alive with the QSC, because of the insane power on tap.
It is far far far from the build quality of an entry level marantz. If NAD continues to sell the 316 with the same cheap components and build quality, shame on them. The 316 would work at low & mid-volume, but I can't recommend it as I got burned by a 315 which was literally a piece of super cheap junk.
